long time no see
Editor's note: Bronwyn wrote this on 31 May but it took me until today (7 August) to get around to fixing a (regretably very minor) problem on the blog that was preventing this entry from being publically available. All fixed now. Sorry everyone... db
Yes it has been a while. Duncan has been talking about possibly taking down this website so I have not been so motivated to blog.
However, it is my only written record of Eden's development so I must not stop all together just yet!
This year is going unbelievably fast. I'm not alone in this feeling. My Mother was taken aback when I asked her to pass on a birthday present to my sister and she realised June was only weeks away.
I think we got into the year a bit late around here for 4 reasons.
1) The weather took a while to become summerish.
2) We had a well deserved (well Duncan anyway) holiday in February rather than the usual Dec/jan time. It was fab - Thames warmth and beach.
3) Eden began to change to 1 sleep per day and it took some time to develop a routine around that - however I was also preoccupied with buying plants and gardening until...
4) I was going through my first trimester of pregnancy - yes indeedy no. 2 is on the way if you have not heard - and boy oh boy I just lay around like I had been hit by a bus for a quite a few weeks.
So there you go. A time of transisition. I have now a sorted weekly routine which is great rather than lolling around the house doing the usual housework + Eden stuff and then going "mmm - it's a bit late to go do something now.." Plus once Autumn sets in there is no point in hanging out washing around here - it doesn't dry properly - if at all so no reason to spending my mornings on it.
That said, it has been an awesome Autumn. Terrible for the dry Hawkes Bay - but nice for us. I could not believe people were getting around in T shirts in the last weekend of May - crazy stuff - global warming I guess.
So what is Eden up to?
His vocabularly has increased hugely and he is superduper keen on using it whenever possible at the top of his voice. In bed in the mornings he can be heard going through several favourites.

They say after 50 words they are capable of parroting. Well he certainly has become quite a sponge - some new word or concept every day. My mother used to say to us T T B - meaning 'teeth', 'toilet' 'bed'. Eden's is Bubble Buddah Book Bed - His funny words for nappy and teeth brushing. He still loves the whole teeth brushing thing - guarenteed to get him heading up the stairs in full voice...
During the week we do Tuneful Tots (my toddler musical playgroup thing), local playgroup, swim and catch up with Joanna and Ariana, + sometimes other plunket or antenatal catchups which are not very regular. Just like my Mum I need at least one day at home to not be rushing and actually do some housework etc ahem. So that's life!
Apart from that, I lead the music at church with my team 1 in four weeks which is a whole lot less stressful than it used to be. Duncan is often stessed with work but he has decided he needs to do something else so he has joined the Wellington photographic society which sounds like it will be quite fun. We are also enjoying our church housegroup which meets every second Monday night.
Righto that's all the boring what we are up to thing. Perhaps more interesting stuff next time, we'll see.
