"Mummy!"
It has finally happened. I am finally "Mummy." Despite constantly introducing myself, everyone - including random strangers, babies and stick figures on a poster has been "Daddy" until now.
Eden said it out of the blue a few nights ago during his beloved teeth brushing - but I wasn't sure. Duncan was calling out "Mummy" a couple of nights ago to indicate Eden was ready to be put to bed and Eden started to copy! Yesterday whilst having lunch in his high chair Eden took great delight in a game of me going out of the room, him calling out "Mummy!" and me rushing back in to say "hello" back.
Back to the beloved teeth brushing. We have come quite far with this. There was a period a couple of weeks back where we were getting tantrums every time we went near the bathroom and chanting of his mantra "Buttar" because he wanted to play with the toothpaste. Thankfully he has gotten over this now and actually helps put it all away. This "buttar" word is curious though - I can only think that he has taken the first two sounds from "brush teeth" and formed his own little word.
Eden has so many words now. General public probably wouldn't understand most of them but we now have a few more food, animal and transport words (he seems to get bus, truck and bike mixed up which is quite funny), plus 'hello' - which is more like "hey ya".
"Bubble" is one of his favourites. He sees bubbles in the bath, in his milk, in his porridge, in bits of random plastic...! The funny thing is he has decided that nappies are bubbles. I'll be changing him and he will be pointing to the nappy saying "bubble!" very emphatically.
He just loves to chat and he burbles nonsense half the day - he most probably will drive me around the bend once he can form sentences and questions.
